The Practitioner
Hi, I'm Mathew — a Certified Sports Massage Therapist working with athletes and active individuals who want to move well, recover effectively, and maintain the activities that matter most to them.
My approach is rooted in both clinical understanding and personal experience. As someone who has spent years training in strength sports, running, and outdoor activities, I understand the physical demands athletes place on their bodies and the importance of staying resilient through training cycles, injuries, and recovery phases.
My work blends sports massage with movement-informed treatment and rehabilitation principles. Rather than focusing on short-term relief, my sessions are designed to support long-term performance by addressing muscular tension, mobility restrictions, and patterns that may contribute to pain or recurring injury.
I believe effective bodywork should be collaborative and educational. During sessions, I work with clients to better understand how their body moves and responds to training so they can take an active role in their own recovery and performance.
I commonly work with runners, strength athletes, climbers, and other individuals who want to stay strong, mobile, and capable over the long term.
My goal is simple: help people move better, recover smarter, and continue doing the things they love for years to come.
Ideal For
Strength Athletes
Powerlifters, Olympic lifters, and CrossFit athletes managing load, recovery, and injury prevention through heavy training cycles.
Runners
From trail runners to road marathoners — managing overuse patterns, maintaining mobility, and recovering between training blocks.
Climbers
Addressing the unique demands of climbing: shoulder, forearm, and thoracic health to keep you on the wall.
Active Individuals
Anyone who moves regularly and wants to stay resilient, manage recurring tightness, or recover smarter from training.
Philosophy
Every session starts with understanding how you move and what you're training for. The work follows from there.
01
Clinical + Personal Understanding
My bodywork is grounded in anatomy, movement science, and lived athletic experience. I don't just know the literature — I've trained through it. This combination lets me assess and treat in a way that's both evidence-informed and practically relevant.
02
Long-Term Performance Over Short-Term Relief
Sessions are designed to address the patterns contributing to your symptoms — not just to make you feel better for a few days. That means looking at tension, mobility, and load tolerance holistically.
03
Collaborative & Educational
I work with you, not just on you. During sessions I explain what I'm finding and why. You leave understanding your body better and with tools to support your own recovery between sessions.
04
Movement-Informed Treatment
Drawing on the Barbell Rehab Method and sports massage principles, treatment integrates an understanding of how the body moves under load — relevant for athletes who need to return to training, not just feel comfortable at rest.

Common Questions
I don't bill insurance directly, however I provide a superbill after each session which you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer out-of-network massage therapy benefits — check with your provider to see what you're eligible for.
Yes — HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards are accepted. Massage therapy is often an eligible expense under these plans, especially when treatment is for a specific condition or injury.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and cash.
Your first session begins with a short intake conversation covering your training history, current concerns, and goals. This helps me understand how your body moves and what you're working toward. Treatment follows from there — expect a collaborative, educational experience rather than a passive one.
Sports massage is more treatment-focused and targeted than a traditional relaxation massage. It addresses specific muscular issues, movement restrictions, and patterns related to training or injury. Sessions are informed by an understanding of how the body performs under load — not just how it feels at rest.
